Imagine a spider’s web.
It’s pattern has to be nearly perfect for the beautiful design to hold together. Each strand is interlinking another, making the network of protein functional and capable of cooperation as a unit. If you pull a single strand from the web, it’s entangled peers will follow. Imagine if a butterfly innocently and gently collided with the spider’s work of art. It would not effect only the strands on which it landed. It would twist and writhe, causing the whole web to become disjointed, eventually adjusting to take on the weight and strength of the butterfly.
This is the world we live in. Everything we think, do, and say is interlinked together. Each vector connects and effects another. Everything we do hints at another connection. This makes knowledge possible, and our world livable.
Think of a major decision you have made in the past. What if your decision had been different? You would have met different people, made different friends, and ultimately, you would not be the same person. Everything you do effects everything else. You pull one strand, and the whole web will change. Some call this the Butterfly Effect, hence my previous analogy.
Here are two major points I would like to make.
1. Every little thing you do has an effect that will last for generations. From the words you say, to the way you looked at your friend this morning. I know for a fact that the little things in life are what make the biggest changes to me. Pull one strand, and the rest will change.
2. Everything we do hints at another connection. I discovered this many years ago, and it has effected how I live my life. There is a meaning for everything. Say you experienced the loss of a friend. Your facial expression, the way you communicate, and the style by which you live your life will be altered. This unfortunate experience is one strand, while your facial expression, communication, and life style derive from it directly. From there, the web expands outwards. Everything is effected in some way, large or small. Someone that knew you well could see these changes in you. They’d look at the way you talk, the way you pretend to be happy, and the manner by which you respond to everything they say. An observant and well educated person would be able to deduct that “You’ve experience a loss lately.” Sadly, there is no such thing as a sound secret. Everything has evidence linked to the truth.
Call it cold reading, call it psychological science; I refer to this as nature. This is how things are.
If one can learn to see how the web idea comes into play within every situation, life becomes a little more clear and not such a confusing confusing place. There are reasons for everything.
